Avnet Expands Relationship with Oracle into Malaysia, Tapping into Growing Demand for Cloud Services

23 November, 2016 – KUALA LUMPUR – Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Oracle has appointed Avnet Technology Solutions as a key distributor in Malaysia. Expanding on the relationship the companies hold across various regions, Avnet is now set to provide Malaysian channel partners with Oracle’s state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions, particularly around cloud services, in response to growing demand and opportunities.

The appointment builds upon Avnet’s existing Oracle distributorship in Asia Pacific, which covers Australia, India, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam. Under the new agreement, Avnet will deliver end-to-end solutions to its vast network of Malaysian channel partners and clients, covering key solutions such as cloud and database, middleware, and engineered systems.

“There has never been a better time for us to enhance our cloud computing and cloud services offerings,” said Chiew Yue Lam, country general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Malaysia. “IT managers and decision-makers are now willing to take the leap to free themselves from legacy issues and burdens of high-CAPEX IT infrastructure. In view of these opportunities and market demand, our partnership with Oracle is very timely. We are delighted to be working closely with an industry pioneer like Oracle who provides an edge by delivering innovative solutions to address a wide range of business requirements.”

Through this appointment Avnet will provide comprehensive technology solutions that not only address current workflow demand, but next-generation technology advancements that will redefine the way companies do business. It also enables Avnet to offer holistic IT solutions around innovative cloud computing services that are currently the go-to option for corporations seeking a more scalable, flexible and powerful IT infrastructure.

Avnet will tap into their robust distribution reach in Malaysia, local market knowledge, and their industry expertise to provide Oracle partners with ongoing channel support, including training, enablement, lead generation, co-marketing, technical integration and services.
